We have safe quiet places for newborns and high-energy activities for pre-school and elementary-aged children. Our vision is to provide age-appropriate ways for children (infants through 5th grade) to encounter God.
Children’s Church is offered for ages 3 years through 5th grade during our Blended worship service. Your child should begin their worship with your family. After the Children’s moment, a leader will take the children out of service together to the Family Life Center 2nd floor classroom. Children will have fun singing songs, hearing a Bible lesson, doing age-appropriate games or crafts, and playing.
Parents interested in helping with class preparation or activities should contact our Children’s Director (youthdirector@firstchurchstcloud.org)
This is offered every Sunday after the 10:15 AM service. A special Children’s program is provided for children ages kindergarten to 5th grade to come together for learning and fellowship. This program is offered during the school calendar year and is off during the summer.
Children will participate in learning, fun activities, and sharing God-centered stories to guide them in the development of their faith.
Every year our church presents a summer Vacation Bible School event. Children ages three years old (potty trained) through completed fifth grade are invited to participate. The school is typically from 9 am to 12PM for one week in June.
To learn about this year’s vacation Bible School, go to our Events page or watch the Upcoming Events below.
We are always in need of volunteers! If you are willing to help with planning and supporting Vacation Bible School, please fill out the volunteer form and contact our Children’s Director (youthdirector@firstchurchstcloud.org) to get involved and answer any questions you may have.
Our nursery is for children ages birth – 3 years. Nursery is offered during the Traditional and Blended Worship services and during some special events at the church when advertised.
Pre-registration is not required for care during worship services. Registration is required for care when parents are participating in special activities.
Children and students of Saint Cloud UMC must be appropriately supervised. Please review these guidelines before involving your child. All children are expected to engage in activities and to listen, follow directions and act in a respectful manner. Parents are expected to discuss appropriate behavior with their children and remind them of the expectations.
Any special instructions should be shared with the staff at this time. Allergy information MUST be communicated to the staff. An allergy label must be placed on your child’s back. Please label any bags, cups, pacifiers, or other belongings. Outside food is not permitted during worship.
Please provide a cell phone number. Text is the preferred method of contact. If you are called you must report to the nursery or children’s area for more information.
Outside food is only allowed in the nursery/childcare rooms if arranged with the nursery for specific reasons. Children can bring healthy snacks as requested by teachers/leaders.
If your child is wearing diapers, please make sure that you always include diapers in his/her bag. A change of clothes should be included as well. There are size-appropriate potties for the children in the nursery rooms. Please make the staff aware if potty training is occurring or if your child has any bathroom concerns or apprehensions. We encourage all parents to take their children to the bathroom prior to bringing them into the nursery.
If there is any question as to whether the child should attend nursery or children’s programs, then the answer is most likely not. Please consider the health of the other children and adults. Children should not attend if they have the following symptoms:
We are blessed with a good supply of age-appropriate toys, games, and activities for our nursery room. If you have items that you would like to donate, please contact our nursery coordinator. We ask that children refrain from bringing their own items from home unless it is a comfort item for them. This helps the staff reduce sharing conflicts.
We employ a dedicated nursery and children’s staff. We are always looking for volunteers to assist with this important mission! To help out, please contact the Children’s coordinator.
